Arctic Sea Smoke on Penobscot Bay
Oh Penobscot Bay!
You always astound me, but on this bitter winter morning (2/4/23), you were nothing short of ravishing. For as polar air embraced you on a day too cold to hold, your passion steamed ever-higher. Your form was mysterious. Your sashay pure elegance.
A sun so radiant backlit your splendor that billowed at the heart of it all. Even your wispy fringes danced and swirled aloft in playful fashion. Arm and arm with a zealous zephyr of northerly origins, your desire seemed rekindled time and again with every strong stirring of the wind.
Those of us in the audience could only stand in admiration at such artistry. For this beautiful wintertime courtship of frigid air and brine yet benumbed is a rarity, but when they join and tease of a romance, the moment is sure to burn with a yearning like no other.
