Fleeting Grandeur
After what seemed like never ending stretch of clouds here along Mid-Coast Maine, we were finally treated to the sun’s wonderful appearance late last week. It was a quiet morning and the air felt seasonably mild as I gazed out across Penobscot Bay. Blue skies abounded, yet as I turned towards Owls Head Lighthouse a small group of renegade clouds seemed unwilling to bid adieu. This wasn’t a bother however, as the radiant warmth of the sun bathed the hillside and the colorful red sumac that adorned it with splendor. The foliage had begun to turn in earnest over the previous few days and peak color seemed to have arrived. I was more than happy to reach for my camera and capture this moment of fleeting grandeur.

Love the unusual perspective of the lighthouse dramatically perched on top of the hill!
