Memorial Day Weekend by Farm and Sea

By Bob Trapani Jr. May 31, 2011

The Memorial Day weekend along Maine’s Midcoast was a mix of fog and sun, but like everyone else, my family and I took advantage of the holiday and enjoyed as much relaxing downtime as possible. Here are a few scenes that caught our eye…

Coastal Maine

Bob Trapani Jr.

Believing the wonderment of the Maine coast is as much about how it stirs our emotions as it is visually pleasing, Bob endeavors to use his photography – often times laced with scene-inspiring sentiments, to capture the depth of its beauty and charm.

From sea to shining sea, indeed! Hi from San Diego! You two make me crazy! You have too much fun with those cameras!

There was a stargazing party on Friday night at Cabrillo National Monument (San Diego)–one of the perks of being a volunteer there–and we looked through giant telescopes at a star cluster and at Saturn. Wow! Its ring was so distinct! And, you MUST believe, many of us witnessed a falling star! (Not through telescope.)

Your images are wonderful! Love the “flying” pendant. Is saltwater juicy the real name of that green plant or is it a newborn, what we call, sea beet growing?

    Let freedom ring!

I love your pictures all of them. Tide pools, cows, horses and donkeys my oh my. What a different angle of Marshal Point Light.
My goal this year was to see that the Indian Cemetery Veterans all had flags on their graves. They have never had flags before for Memorial day unless their families put one on. I complained to anyone who would listen to me for three years and we finally got it done. I have been so tickled I could just shout.
Keep sending me those beautiful pictures. Thank you both.
